The tile around the tub turned out awesome! One of the employees at Home Depot recommended it and I'm glad he did! I had never seen or heard of anyone tiling around their surround.
The vanity, sink and medicine cabinet were next.
I wanted a dark vanity w/ matching medicine cabinet...well, we found ONE at Lowes...but couldn't get the lighting to work...not enough room at the top. And we couldn't recess it because we have big vent pipes running up that wall. So that scratched the mirrored medicine cabinets...even tho we found some that had the sides finished I could tell Joe wasn't keen on them so we went back to the original vanity and medicine cabinet. I thought I'd be all helpful one day so I picked the vanity up...wrong size...back it went. We ordered a custom sink before Thanksgiving from Menards...it was a beautiful silk stone, lt tan wave sink. So it finally comes in before Christmas....they ordered it wrong...which was fine...we were use to the disappointments...and frankly I would've been surprised if it was the right one..lol. So, they sent that one back...and we waited on the next one....and waited....we were at a another stand still! We get the post card that it came in...even after my many phone calls checking on the status and the many promises that they were going to call when it came in....asshats...anyway, we take this sink home and it's is so kewl and looks great....well, Joe can't get the drain tube hooked up....he spends 2 evenings at 3hrs each just trying to get the stupid drain tube on....well, he finally takes it apart...and we figure out the sink is defective....so back to the store it went. Then they stood there and had the kahoona's to tell us there would be a 15% restocking fee on THEIR defective sink! I don't know who wanted to fly across the counter first...me or Joe. We both told her there would be NO way we were paying a restocking fee.....*insert snotty 20yr old tone here* "Well, when you signed the contract on the special order sink it said you would pay a restocking fee" *insert snotty 47yr old tone here* THAT was on a sink we could actually USE!!" omg I mean really?? WTH??
So, off to Lowes we went.....found a porcelain sink w/ a granite top...had to buy new faucets too...
Those went right in....slick as a whistle. 3rd time was the charm again.
